Algebra 2 - 2009/10
Course Overview
This course takes an in-depth look at more advanced mathematical concepts and is required for college bound students. The student will study such topics as functions, systems of numbers, sequences, polynomials, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations and inequalities, conics, probability, and introductory trigonometry.
Students will work through the all chapters of the Algebra 2 text. There will be homework assigned every class period.
Grading - Homework 50%, Assessments 30%, Class Participation 20%. All grades are updated weekly and available 24/7 for parents, students and the ES to access through Snapgrades (an internet based grade book).
Potential Credits
Successful completion of this course will earn the student 10 units Mathematics credits toward the graduation requirements for a high school diploma.
Pre-Requisite
Completion of Algebra 1 and Geometry with a C or higher.

- McDougal Littel, Algebra 2, 2007 edition
- Texas Instruments TI-84 Graphing Calculator
Recommended Materials
- Access to the Internet (required for Blackboard students)
Class Hours/Days
- This course will be offered as a hybrid course at the Cutten Classrooms and online via Blackboard Distance Learning.
- Class is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30-2:30.
- Classes begin 9/2/2009.
