Algebra 1B - 2009/10
Course Overview
This is the second year of a two-year Algebra I course. Students will learn to work with exponents, non-linear graphs, polynomials, quadratics, systems of equations and inequalities. Standards covered in this course are included on the High School Exit Exam.
Students will work through the last six chapters of the Algebra 1 text. There will be homework assigned every class period.
Grading - Homework 50%, Assessments 30%, Class Participation 20%. All grades are updated weekly and available 24/7 for parents, students and the ES to access through Snapgrades (an internet based grade book).
Potential Credits
Successful completion of this course will earn the student 10 units Mathematics credits toward the graduation requirements for a high school diploma.
Pre-Requisite
Completion of Algebra 1B with a C or higher.

- McDougal Littel, Algebra 1, 2007 edition
Recommended Materials
- Access to the Internet (required for Blackboard students)
- Texas Instruments TI-84 Graphing Calculator.
Class Hours/Days
- This course will be offered as a hybrid course at the Cutten Classrooms and online via Blackboard Distance Learning.
- Class is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00-11:00.
- Classes begin 9/2/2009.
