Bio:
Pam has been a part of the Mattole Unified School District for twenty-six years. She started her teaching career as the independent study teacher, driving to the homes of students weekly for families who for either political or geographic reasons, chose this alternative to the regular classroom education offered in Petrolia. Next Pam taught grades K-3 when Honeydew School was opened in 1986. Pam went onto teach grades 4 and 5 at Mattole Elementary in Petrolia, returning to teach upper grades at Honeydew School when the building for a two room school house was completed in 1990. When declining enrollment changed the configuration of Honeydew School in 2001, Pam taught high school Geometry, English, and World History at Mattole Triple Junction High School, while also serving as ES to eighteen students in Mattole Valley Charter School's Independent Study Program, and also took on a leadership role as ES Adviser at that time. Pam started as a part time ES in 1998, when MVCS opened it's doors. After completing the Administrative Services Credential Program at HSU, Pam became the Regional Director in Siskiyou and Trinity Counties, continuing to work with Independent study Education Specialists in all counties. Now Pam serves as the Regional Director in Humboldt and Mendocino Counties, and enjoys working with a variety of ESs and learning centers implementing various creative California Standards based curriculum to a very diverse student population.
