Bio:
Kirk Miller believes in offering alternatives in education that fit the needs and learning styles of his students. He strives to provide a safe and accepting learning environment that supports students in a way that will help them discover who they are and what they can become.
After earning a Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Chico, Kirk began working for Mattole Valley Charter School in the fall of 2003 as an Education Specialist at the Diamond View Learning Center in Yreka. He now also works at the Mt. Shasta Learning Center. In addition to home school and independent study facilitation, he teaches guitar and music appreciation at the centers.
Previously, Kirk taught guitar at College of the Siskiyous for the 5 years. He is a California native who has lived in Mt. Shasta for 8 years with his wife and son. He has an undergraduate degree in Economics and Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma WA, and he owned a CD and music store in Wyoming for 12 years. He enjoys music, sports, movies, and playing games.
