Bio:

I first discovered a love for teaching shortly after I married and was helping my husband teach outdoor education for Christian school children at Mission Springs Conference Center in Santa Cruz, CA. Shortly after that I enrolled and completed the elementary education program at San Jose University and obtained my teaching credential.

Since that time I taught 3rd grade for 3 years at a private Christian school in Whittier, CA, while my husband went to seminary. I took a few years off from teaching when our two daughters were born and during their preschool years. When they began elementary school at Pine Hill School in Eureka, I began substitute teaching at Pine Hill. After several years of substituting, I was hired as a reading teacher with the Success for All reading program at Pine Hill. I taught reading for the next 5 years until the SFA reading program was phased out. I next worked 1 year at Grant Elementary school as a math intervention teacher/GATE coordinator. Since 2003 I have taught kindergarten at North Coast Learning Academy, a Mattole Valley learning center. I absolutely love teaching this grade level! In mid-life I have found my niche and am so grateful!
